It is one of the most beautiful hamlets. Invisible from the main road leading to Bellagio, Careno can be spotted only from the lake, and it looks like a wedge descending sharply till the water. Around here there are some of the most impervious and wild corners of the lake. At the end, a few steps from the pier, the two monuments we most love. An old style trattoria where you can taste (real) local delicacies and, just in front, an evocative and gorgeous Romanesque church. How can you visit it? The owners of the trattoria hold the keys, and if you are not in a hurry and look like you “understand” the place, they will show it to you.
