On the most terrifying night of the year, flashlight in hand, you’ll cross the woods of the Spina Verde Regional Park to uncover the history and mysterious secrets of the Castle:
Event hours: from 7:30 PM to 11:00 PM (arrival at your convenience; last tower visit at 10:30 PM).
Access to the Castle is PEDESTRIAN ONLY (approximately 20-minute walk through the woods along a path from Piazza Camerlata). You may reach the Castle on your own or join a guided group walk (departures at 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM).
HALLOWEEN NIGHT EXPERIENCE
This year, Halloween in Como will be experienced in a different way — far from the usual costume parties and plastic decorations. The atmosphere will be shaped solely by the power of the place itself, its thousand-year history, and the legends of its ghosts. An inimitable, authentic, and evocative Halloween — where legend meets conviviality.
Castel Baradello is the symbol of Como. Built by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa in a spectacular strategic position, it towers over the city and the first basin of the lake. When night falls, the forest at the foot of Baradello transforms — silent, dark, and mysterious.
That’s where the adventure begins: a night walk of about 20 minutes starting from Camerlata. Only torches and the sound of footsteps will light the way, creating an atmosphere filled with suspense and anticipation.
Upon reaching the Castle, the gates open to a unique experience. A 30-minute guided tour, engaging and spirited in tone, will lead you through halls and walls that have guarded for centuries stories of battles and ghostly legends. The most famous of all, Napo Torriani, will be the thread that ties the narrative together — a figure suspended between history and myth, between fascination and unease.
During the tour, live music will echo through the rooms and courtyards, enhancing the atmosphere and emotion of the visit. There will be no artificial sets — only the authentic magic of the castle, the storyteller’s words, the sound of instruments, and the silence of the surrounding woods.
The evening will end in good company with craft beers from our partner, Wicked Tales Brewery. Each beer has its own distinct character and carries a mysterious story, to be discovered sip by sip — a convivial, lighthearted toast to complete the experience.
Guests are welcome to join the tour wearing Halloween-themed masks and costumes!
